Annual Flower Gardening

The annul plants are the plants that complete their life cycle in one season itself. Within this season, they grow mature flower produce seeds and then perish. These provide a good option for the gardeners. By planting them, you can get the flowers or the fruits within a short time itself.

The most annuals grow from their seeds and this is the most convenient method for growing them. It is cheap method and it is easy to control the growth. You first plant them inside the house and then transplant them outdoors. It is very important that they receive the right conditions, particularly sunlight, water, and nutrients during the starting period of their life.

Planting the annuals

You should first plant them indoors and later when they are ready, you can plant them outside. Since the annuals grow for sometime of the year, the conditions that prevail in that span are suited for them.

Therefore, you should plant them at the right time of the year. They prefer stable temperatures. If you are transplanting them, you must take proper care that they are at the same ground level. In addition, it would be better if create a bed for them. This bed should not contain any weeds or any pests. Most of the annual require a pH of 6.5 to 7.6.

During the plantation, you may apply a dose of fertilizer that has good amount of phosphorous that may content as 10-15-17. This is a very good starter fertilizer for them. As they require stable conditions, you must water them regularly and maintain stable moisture content.

They require regular practices like fertilizer application, watering, mulching, grooming, weeding,

The annuals actually do not require much care about the fertilizers. However, you should regularly apply them for the best results.

The watering too is not of that importance if you plant them in the correct season. However, if you are planting annuals in places differing from their native places then you should maintain a regular supply of water as per their requirement.

You may also try mulching for the annuals. This would give you the advantages like it will look attractive, and conserve moisture content of the soil.

You must not let weeds to grow around them.

In addition, you practice grooming i.e. removing the spent flowers before they bear seeds. This will cause the plants to produce more seeds.
