Attic Ventilation
In western countries generally condition of natural air is not good and so ventilation system is being used to prevent air diseases. Attic ventilation is one of the popular modes in the western countries, which provide fresh and healthy air to the people. Attic ventilation system is especially useful for the homes and buildings. There are two basic two reasons.
During the summer season even though increased heat is irritating thing, enhances cooling energy system. Internal produced moisture can move into attic ventilation. In other words, moisture control and heat (temperature) are the basic reasons that oblige us to use the attic ventilation.
This system can create more cooling and fresh environment as the temperature increases during the summer period. Although the outside temperature is low inside temperature goes to high. This temperature can reach maximum 160 degree F in summer. However the cooling rate inside the home depends upon air condition and temperature rate between internal and outer. This cooling system is different at different places.
It also depends on the geographical and environmental situations. Home structure, ceiling construction is also affects the attic ventilation. If the ceiling is poor, the internal movement of heat and air would cost more than 20% of the cooling cost. In other words high attic ventilation rates are more useful for poorly insulted ceilings. Solar radiation, rate of the ventilation, and construction details can also be caused Attic Temperature. In Texas, it is observed on a day, ventilation rate of the air changes the attic temperature rate. At this time, 95 degree F air would lower the attic temperature rate to about 100 F. And even providing half air per minute can also change or lower the temperature rate.
During winter season, attic ventilation system should capable to remove the moisture vapor from living space to attic effectively. Ventilation adequate for winter is less cooling than adequate for summer ventilation. Summer ventilation rate can be determined by calculating the volume of attic space by dividing tow.
Air will need ventilation cubic feet per minute (CFM). H x W x L / 2 is the rule of calculating the CFP. H means height of the roof or ceiling, W means width of the house and L means the length of the home or space. This is divided by 2. This is a general and perfect rule to calculate the CFP for every home or building.
