Description about the Backyard dog kennels:

A kennel is defined as the shelter for the dog. The backyard of the house can be fenced after the dog his brought and by fencing the backyard the dog can move and run around freely and safely. The first thing to be done is cleaning the backyard and building a backyard kennel. The kennels are having a chain like structures that are designed to keep the dog restricted to an area of the yard. There are a variety of dog kennels to choose from. There are kennels that can be assembled from a kit which has every thing one needs to put the panels of the fence together. They can be raised with a concrete slab above the ground and have a sturdy roof and a closed doghouse. The size of the kennel depends on the size of the dog. An average size is usually 8 feet by 16 feet. The larger dog might need a 16 foot by 16 foot enclosure. The most important thing is the sturdiness of the chain link and the distance between the mesh. A lighter chain might not be strong and can be broken by a dog that is strong and aggressive. If the mesh is too wide, then there are chances that the dog might strike his paw in the fence.

The different types of backyard kennels

During the selection of the kennel, certain considerations have to be kept in mind. These include the size of the dog. The chances are there that the dog might jump from the fence. So height must also be taken into consideration. Some dogs tend to climb the mesh. So it is always better to cover the top portion of the fence by extending the fence. This also helps the dog from being exposed to the sun.

The different types of kennels are the residential kennels, medium kennels and commercial kennels. The residential kennels are the least expensive ones. The gauge ranges from 11 half to 12 and a half with the mesh size between 2 one fourth to 2 and half inches. The smaller the mesh size the better it is. The medium type panel has an 11 gauge measurement with a 2 inch of mesh size. The tension bands that are stronger than the clips and these are used to hold the tension bar that stretches the chain link tight at the sides of each panel. The commercial ones are used by the professional breeders and they have the tension bands. If one is interested in this type of backyard kennel then there is a requirement of laying a concrete wall.

Conclusion

It is important to have a dog proof kennel latch. These latches take two motions to open usually by lifting straight up and then flipping open. It should also be secure enough to prevent thieves or neighborhood kids from opening the gate.
