Bird Imprinting

When something happens at right time, which execute in the right direction and from all these the knowledge one acquires called as Imprinting. Similarly, this is use to happen with Birds. Ducklings, when they hatch at that time, if baby ducklings see the card board box pulled by a string, baby think their mother going away from them. So they used to follow the box. After this whenever they used to see box floating away they used to follow the box. With this effect on their mind they used to follow any passing things. This phenomenon gets imprinted in the memory of bird. This is very strange situation, it is very necessary that ducklings should see mother first before any event occur before their eyes. Imprinting is one thing which is influenced by genetically programmed and some what through experience. Sucking behavior is one which comes in born, there is no need to teach the baby. Normally Kitten comes with brain for hunting the rats. It is also necessary in case of birds that they should hear other birds otherwise they will not understandable to other also.

In case of duckling, it is very short time period in that period they grasp anything which comes before them as they come out of eggs. It is very much necessary in every living their used to be stimuli.

Inducing Imprinting takes place in birds. Before doing imprinting on small birds it is necessary to look whether bird have capacity to distinguish different stimuli.

Imprinting plays very important role in behavior of birds, basically new born birds. Bird should recognize their parents, if it is not possible. It will be hard for offspring to survive. One should not this kind of imprinting is called as filial Imprinting. Sexual imprinting is important in every live hood, in which birds understand the siblings. It will make mating preferences as they become adults. Imprinting in Mammal is very shortly found. Primates, they are altrical animals, they not developed in good condition they need more time for development. They take more months to become operational, with all senses and actions.
