For creating a low cost kennel in the basement one needs to buy a few panels. The basement walls can be used as the other sides of the kennel. In order to make it more comfortable one can add a little bit of carpet, which will give your dog a nice feel of home comfort. Provide a baby gate at the side of kennel using wire, wooden or plastic material for blocking sideways. It keeps your dog in the manner you want to keep him, helping other animals and kids away from your dog. Your dog can get fresh air and exercise and the rest needed. This suits most dog as an independent and comfort home.

Tips for Basement Dog Kennel:

While placing your pet dog in the kennel, take care not to leave any kind of toys like stuffed animal, rubber chews, buster cubes etc., which is unsafe. The dogs tend to chew and swallow most toys. Do remember not to leave your pet unattended for long hours when they are put in the basement kennel. The passionate dog lover needs to take into account other resources along with the equipments and follow a few tips for maintaining the dog at the basement kennel in the nicest form:

* Consult a reputed veterinarian for his ideas to keep your pet dog healthy always. Inquire with the friends and neighbours for their advices as well.

* Be careful about the bedding material. This has to be easily washable and durable, beware of the fact that some dogs are used to eating bed.

* Get the tip-proof dishes for food and water, preferable of stainless steel or hard plastic.

* Buy a set of buckle collar and lead for daily use. The ones of soft nylon with rolled leather are preferable. Choose leash of approx. six foot long.

* Confirm placing rabies tag, town license and ID tag along with your telephone number for wearing on the dog's collar.

* For exercise purpose of your dog use a flexi-leash. This will be safer in using a regular use even if your dog pulls it or gets aggressive or runs amok in different directions.

* Buy proper grooming supplies like pin brush, long toothed comb nail clippers and shedding brush.

* Stock the dry dog food after consulting the dog breeder or rescuer taking into account what the dog is currently eating.

* Use a bitter-apple like safe-spray product in order to discourage your pet chewing on improper objects.
