The best way for attracting birds is using a bird feeder. Birds are very easily attracted by these feeders. The feeder can be filled with various items according to the likings of the different species of the birds. These feeders can contain a variety of seeds that can be used for attracting the birds. Before purchasing the feeder, be sure that which kind of birds you are interested to attract.

There are different types of feeders:

1. The Oriole Bird Feeder- if you are interested in attracting the oriole birds, then you can use the Oriole Bird Feeder. The oriole birds are the lovers of sweet, specially they feed on the fruits and the nectar. There is a small vessel in the feeder that can be filled with sugar water, jellies, jams, preserves and fruits. Such a feeder can also attract hummingbirds and many other backyard birds that are regarded as sugar addicts of the Mother Nature.

2. Hanging Feeders and Tube Seed Feeders- these feeders are designed specially for those birds who don't like to eat the food that is fallen on the ground. The different songbirds like titmice, finches and nuthatches like to sit on the branches of the trees, take the seed and fly off. Tube feeders are also very useful for them as their remains protected from the predators. Hanging them along with the wire can be helpful as the predators like squirrels will be unable to chew through it.

3. Platform Feeders- birds who move around in flocks will be more attracted by platform feeders. Attach these feeders to your house or garage or set them on the posts. If you want to see the birds feeding, you may position the platform feeder close to your windowsill.

4. Suet Feeders- one of the excellent source of food for the birds during the winters is the suet. Suet is especially the favorite food of the woodpeckers. Also the cardinals, nuthatches and the chickadees are attracted by the suet feeders.

5. And finally, never forget one of the greatest feeders of all, the ground itself to attract birds like sparrows, doves, pigeons, etc.
