Feeding Backyard Birds

Keeping birds in your backyard as pets is a hobby of many of the people regardless of whether the person is old or young. It is also one of the best ways of enjoying the wildlife. Their chirping sound, sound of flattering their wings gives you a great charm and a pleasant feeling. 1. Black-oil sunflower seeds attract birds like sparrows, goldfinches, nuthatches and juncos.

2. Cracked corn may be used to attract doves, towhees and ground feeding sparrows.

3. fruits can be used for attracting mocking birds, woodpeckers, orioles and finches

4. Sugar and water in the ratio of 4/1 attracts warblers, humming birds and orioles largely.

5. Suet may be used for birds such as titmice, creepers, woodpeckers, orioles and sapsuckers.

Feeding the backyard birds provides you with great fun, entertainment and knowledge, provided you should have some patience in you. Along with the feeds and feeders, you can also have a water source nearby for attracting the birds in large numbers. You can also place a waterbath for the birds that are readily available in the market. With continuity, you will master the basic skills needed for feeding the backyard birds.
