The fruit trees also can be good trees for gardens. You can also use them as ornamental plants in addition to the fruits that you get from them. You should properly select fruits trees when you are planting them in your house orchard. They should serve your need of fruits and should be convenient for growing them in your house.

Selection of fruits trees

For each of the fruits there are number of verities that are available in the market. They are either tall or dwarf. The dwarf varieties are better, as they are better looking and also, mature quickly and bear fruits earlier than the taller varieties. You should select the plants whose parents gave good amount and quality of fruits. Therefore, you should use the seeds of the plant that had good fruits. Alternatively, it would be better if, you use the cuttings rather than the seeds because the plants that evolve form the cuttings are more similar to the parents.

You should take into account the pollination type of the plant, and confirm whether the plant will get the factors and the conditions for the pollination. If you are buying saplings from the nursery, the plants should be at least one year old.

Planting the fruits trees

While planting the trees, you should take into account whether they can bear the fruits in your area. Also, see up to what height they grow, so that they will not have any problems afterwards. Keep some distance between two adjacent plants. Adjust the proper pH of the soil for the plant. Also, add some fertilizers while. Remove any weeds from the soil as they may affect the growth of the plants.

The right time for planting is after the winter and just before the spring.

The after care practices

It would be better if you regularly do the mulching for the plants. This you may do until they start bearing the fruits. You should take proper care of the weeds or other competitors that may grow in the soil. Do not dig near the roots of the plants or it may damage them. You should regularly add water and fertilizers as the plants might need, for growing well.

Moreover, you may regularly do the cutting, pruning etc. this will induce more branching. Therefore, the plants will bear more flowers, leaves, and fruits.

If you follow all these measures, then the plants will bear greater number of fruits and they will be of good quality.

Many pests also, attack the fruits trees. Therefore, awareness and proper care for that is necessary. You should harvest fruits carefully, and do not damage the plants while doing so.
