When you bring the saplings, you should better plant them immediately. For this, you should dig a hole of up to 2 to 3 inches. It is better to apply some mulch. Remove the weeds and grass around it.

Keep some distance between the adjacent plants. It should be around 8-feet for the dwarf varieties and for the taller varieties, it should be around 14-feet. If the soil is good then you should keep them at the same level as they were in the nursery, but if the soil does not have good drainage system you may keep them a little higher than the nursery.
