Light Duty Casters

Castors are used for a lot of different reasons. They are made according to different requirements. Among these different capacity castors, the light duty castors too, are useful for some applications. These may include storing many things for household uses or other commercial lightweight purposes.

In the light duty castors, the wheels are made from plastic or rubber. Both of these materials have moderate strength. This much strength is enough for the lightweight purposes they are used. However, the surface of the wheels has to be made from rubber. This proves to be useful for gripping the ground. The steering on which, they are mounted is made from galvanized iron.

The light duty castors have some useful features. The light duty castors have a good ability to swivel in the direction in which they are pushed. If you choose from among the good quality ones then you will get better freely swiveling castors. However, as they are used for the lightweight purposes there are not much problems about their swiveling from one place to other with your pushing.

However, the over-swiveling of the castors may be troublesome at times, as they will unintentionally move even with the smallest of the push.

There are a number of options when you will look for them in the market. They range from different prices, quality and capacities. Even though the light duty castors are used for the lightweight purposes, most of them are made from plastic and rubber wheels. Therefore, it is advisable that you should check them for quality.

Lower quality ones will cause a lot of trouble. The plastic wheels may crack and the rubber wheels may come out. Similarly, the steering on which they are mounted can go out of shape. The metals in them too, can be corroded.

The capacity of the light duty castors is generally around 80 lbs per castor. They are not much costly. They can be used for the common furniture in the house or the other commercial places. However, they are generally applied to the furniture, which is light in weight. Therefore, they are accordingly applied to the chairs, small desks as telephone or tea tables etc.
