Marine Dry Rot Repair

The dry rot is caused in two cases when there is too much of presence of moisture and when proper ventilation is not available. In these circumstances when the water is not dried properly and then left it case the dry rot. They are visible through the naked eye. It appears in ochre yellow in wood. Especially in marines they appear dark brown in color. They can detect as they are stink a lot. It is caused in the lower part of the marine. When they are seen they are to be repaired other the metal plates get destroyed very quickly. For this reason the treatment of the dry rot is very essential. The cause of this is due to the effect of the water which is remained and they are not cleaned.

Repair of the dry rot

When it is found that the dry rot is caught at the base areas of the marine then the first step which is needed to be executed out is to remove the unwanted material from those places. Then the rotten part is to be cleaned properly by checking all the corner places. After this they are rubbed with some of the sand paper which removes the coating. The removal of this coating is very essential. It has to be coated with new gel paint. The coating has to be made twice or thrice that will give it a thick coat and will also prevent rusting at certain areas. The interior and the floor parts are the main areas where it is to be coated. Even the stringers can installed at these places that will not effect when the water gets deposited.

The preventive angle

After proper lamination, it is then dried properly otherwise, it will not show any effect. Al the wood materials which are caught with dry rot has to be replaced with the new ones. It is because the wood dry rot cannot be repaired and it can only be replaced. The dry rot formation at these places is obvious, the one that damages the interior and the floor parts. When they get the water remains at these places they show such formations. Hence, after the application of the paint in these areas they can be easily prevented.
