Mulberry Trees In Home Orchards

The mulberry trees are one of the common trees in the garden. It blooms in the spring season. In addition to the flowers, it also bears fruits. It is a shrub in most of regions of the world but it also can attain good height. It is a plant, that does not need much water, and it is easy to grow. Therefore, they require less care and maintenance. It is the native of the North America.

The requirements

The uses of the mulberry plants in the gardens

The mulberry plants that grow taller can provide shade and green cover in the gardens. In addition, as the black and the other mulberry varieties provide delicious fruits, we can enjoy the flavor of these fruits. In addition, many birds and animals also feed on them and therefore they may visit our home orchard.

They bloom in the spring and the trees cover themselves with the flowers. This adds to the beauty of the orchard. Many butterflies come on these flowers. The mulberry plants are useful in the sericulture. This is because the silkworms eat the leaves of the mulberry plants only. Therefore, their leaves too have commercial applications. Especially the white mulberries i.e. the 'Morus alba' are the best for the sericulture because the silkworms that produce the best type of silk feed only on the these plants.
