Ornamental trees are grown in home orchard for their attractive features like shape, flowers etc. they are particularly suitable for home orchard. Ornamental trees can also be grown for shade. Some ornamental trees yield berries which can be feed to birds. So you can attract birds to your orchard by growing such types of ornamental trees. The ever green ornamental trees can survive in cold climate also and so they will add attraction to your orchard in winter. It can survive through wind breaks and so they require less cost on growing. Evergreen ornamental trees should be pruned carefully.

Flowering trees will be ideal ornamental trees that will give excellent view of your garden. You can grow Dogwood, mulberry and weeping cherry in your home orchard. The flowering trees will also attract birds and butterflies to your home orchard. So it gives more excitement to bird watchers. Saucer magnolias are deciduous trees that give pinkish white flowers. You can grow them in well drained soil and the tree requires adequate sun light to grow. You can add fertilizer to the young tree. You can prune the multiple shrubs of the tree carefully. This will make this flowering tree grow healthily.

Crepe Myrtle trees are ornamental trees suitable for home orchard. They are small trees and the leaves and white flowers are wonderful to look at. They can grow in any climate and you need to care them little. The flower will become brownish fruits that will attract birds. The tree yield flowers from mid summer to fall. You should not fertilize the tree more.

Dog wood trees are noted for their lovely flowers that bloom in spring season. The red flowers will give a lovely look to your garden. In fall the flower will change its color to purple. After spring the flower will become fruits that can attract wild birds. These trees also provide more landscaping benefits.

Normally all ornamental trees can be grown in moist soil. Apart from flowering trees you can select fast growing ornamental trees like Aspen Quaking which has superb leaf shapes. It can grow in any type of soil. Beech American is another ornamental tree which can be grown in well drained soil. These trees are normally used as hedge. The leaves of the tree will change its color according to the season from dark green to golden bronze.
