Pewter Drawer Pulls

A pull is basically a device with is affixed to the exterior and interior of a door (a car door, a door at the passage way, bed room door etc) which is used for the purpose of opening and closing the door. There are many companies that manufacture pulls in many different shapes sizes and colours. They are generally made of metal since its meant for rough use.

Pulls are similar to handles and are used mainly on automatic doors that close on their own. They are just screwed to the outer and inner surface of the door so one can pull open the door. Pewter metal is actually an alloy of tin, antimony and copper, with tin being the main component which makes up for more than ninety percent of it. Since pewter in its pure form is too soft for practical use hardening agents like copper and antimony are added. Though with minimum care this metal can last a lifetime, if through neglect it has become dull its best to clean with a metal polish in straight lines and not in circles, for good results. The metal s highly polished appearance does not tarnish or discolour easily and hence proves ideal for pull handles, drop handles for use on kitchen cupboards, wardrobes, and even suitable for cabinets and chests. Pewter drawer pulls collection come in a variety of designs and finishes, the most famous being antique polished pewter and antique brushed pewter finish. They are available in slender carved shapes and considering the metal they could be very well used for rough use. The metals are crafted in beautiful modern shapes or small motifs like a flower, animal or a bird that will brighten and sharpen any home or business decor.
