We all would love to have our own orchards. But if we have seriously decided upon having an orchard, then the main question is of which trees and also if you have decided upon which tree then now is the time to plan. If you have decided upon an apple tree the here's some of the planning that needs to be done for growing apple trees to have delicious juicy apples.

Apple tree does not flourish widely and therefore needs comparatively less space than other bigger trees. This is the biggest good news about the apple trees, apple trees are 'dwarf fruit trees'. Since the apple trees require less space, they can be grown anywhere, which are suitable for other plants that are used for ornamentation. There are various types of apple trees like semi-dwarf, dwarf according to their flourishing heights.

A standard apple tree grows around 1 meter in height. It requires a minimum distance spacing of 30 feet away from another apple tree. The fruits bearing age of a standard apple tree is expected to be between 6 to 10 years an average life span of an apple tree is said to be around 35 to 45 years. Also the approximate yield of a standard apple tree is around 8 bushels per plant. All this indicated that planning an apple tree for your orchard will be profitable if maintained properly.

Since the apple tree falls in the category of dwarf trees, the equipments needed for its maintenance can also be the normal equipments that we use for our gardening. The apple trees are said to be cultivated using the "rootstocks" from the apple seeds. While planning to cultivated apple trees also keep in mind of buying those apple trees that are 1 year old apple trees.

The apple tree also needs a proper time of planting. While planning to plant apple trees the state of moisture content of the soil should be proper and also the tree should be in a 'dormant state'. Proper cultural practices should be carried out and also proper pesticide management should be planned.
