The termite damage is caused in the wooden materials, timber frames and floorboards whereby it is destroyed by insects. They pierce through the wood for their existence and thereby they totally destroy the material. When the wooden material is caught hold of it then it needs a few months to turn down into pieces. It can be distinguished from the dry rot as the termite damage is an approach by the insects and the dry rot is formed within itself from the fungus. They have a common result i.e. they destroy the whole material starting from its surface.

Termite damage and dry rot

When the wooden material is found with small ant like insects then suddenly some action has to be taken. The identification is very necessary which is to be carried out by a proper investigation. While locating these insects the wood has to be checked thoroughly. All the dead trees are to be removed from the nearby areas. Even it can be checked by a common man or the person staying at the particular place. When such person comes across such case then he can look for and find its origin. The total part is to be treated with some of the anti termite agents. And if it is totally damaged with it then the person is not left with a single option and has to replace it. While in the case of the dry rot, the formation takes place at the wet places.

The reasoning behind formation of termite damage and dry rot

These places are not provided with proper ventilation that is responsible for its formation. First it is attacked by fungus and it spreads all over the part of the wet area. Gradually it takes the shape of the rot. The simple treatment in this case is done by removing the rot part and completely damaged portion is treated with an anti rot agent and afterwards keep checking them regularly. The main difference lies in repairing where the termite damage needs a total replacement for its prevention and repair but in case of the dry rot, it can be set right after the removal of the rot. After the removal, application of the coating is necessary. This makes the distinction between the two damaging processes.
