You can attract a number of species of birds to your backyard by planting a variety of trees there. Trees are used by birds for many different purposes. They need trees to build their nests, to get shelter from the different climatic conditions a swell as their predators. Trees also provide them with food such as nectar, fruits, seeds and berries.
