Types Of Garden Tools

Garden tools are specially designed for the gardening purposes. They are classified as hand tools and power tools.

Hand tools- are the tools that can be operated by hand for the gardening purpose. They do not require heat or energy for their operation. The different hand tools are the garden hoe, spade, pitchfork, garden rake, garden fork, and the plough.

Power Tools- are the tools that are to be operated by the use of heat or electricity. The different power tools used for the gardening purpose include lawn mover, string trimmer, hedge trimmers, leaf sweepers, lawn aerators, mini tractors, sprinklers, cultivators and leaf blowers.

Let us see the use of these different types of garden tools in brief:

* Cultivator- it is an implement that is used for mixing and pulverizing the soil in the garden. The soil is stirred to a greater depth with the cultivator rather than the harrow. They are used in the garden for mixing the soil with the fertilizer and the manure before planting the seeds.

* Hedge Trimmer- it is used for cutting the garden hedges that were otherwise cut off using a knife. They can work either on gasoline or on electricity.

* Lawn Mover- it is used for cutting the grass and the other unwanted plants in the garden upto an even length by means of rotating blades.

* Leaf Blower- it is a tool of gardening that is used to remove the debris from the garden such as leaves. This is done by propelling the air out of the nozzle. They also have the capacity to suck small twigs, leaves though the vacuum and it is contained in the bag inside the equipment.

* Loppers- it is a type of scissor that is used to prune the smaller branches of the tree as well as the twigs. They have jaws on the front side that may be either curved or straight to carry out the required purpose.

* Sprinklers- the greatest use of the sprinklers in the garden is watering the crops, lawns and the garden as a whole, in times of drought. They can also be used for a cooling or as a recreation system.
