Ventilation is the process where in the fresh air outside the house comes in and the stale air is exhausted. Ventilation is required in each and every house so that each one in the house can breathe fresh air and keep itself healthy. House ventilation can be done in two ways that is natural way and mechanical way.

House itself breathes by its own that is natural way of ventilation. Natural way of ventilation means the house has windows and doors and they also have windows especially for ventilation which are to be kept open. Even if the doors and windows are closed there is small space where in the fresh air keeps coming.

Ventilation can also be mechanized as mentioned before where there are many artificial products which are installed in the house to keep the air coming inside. In mechanized ventilation we have ceiling fans, exhaust fans, bathroom ventilation, whole house fans, etc. Ceiling fans are the fans which are there almost in all houses these days. Ceiling fans keep fresh air moving around the room. Ceiling fans have the regulators which help to increase and decrease the speed of the fans.

Exhaust fans are the fans which are installed mostly in kitchens. Exhaust fans keeps the fresh air in the kitchens and exhaust all of stale and stinking air outside. Exhaust fans are necessary so that there is healthy environment due to the fresh air.

Bathroom ventilation is also necessary. Bathroom ventilation can be done naturally and also be in mechanized form. There are many houses where there are ventilating windows installed in the bathroom to keep incoming of the fresh air. These windows are adjustable that is they can be closed and open as required. Bathroom ventilation is important as they exhaust the offensive air outside which keeps the person healthy. As mentioned, before there are mechanized ventilation for bathrooms which equivalently operate as natural that is bring in fresh air and exhaust offensive air.

Whole house fans are the fan which cool the air inside the house and removes the stale air. The whole house fans pull the air from open windows and exhaust it through the attic and roofs. Whole house fans have a drawback that is they are too noisy.

There is solar ventilation also to keep the house cool and free of stale air. Solar ventilation works only where there is sun and that is the drawback of solar ventilation.
