Wheel Casters
Wheel casters are the casters normally used for the office furniture namely the chairs. Caster Wheels include rubber, phenolic, polyolefin, steel, polyurethane, v-groove etc. The caster wheels can also be used as replacements for the current casters if any of them are damaged.
There are many twin wheel casters available in the market with wheel diameters upto 125 mm. All of them vary in style and the materials used. They provide economic and durable solutions to medical equipments, store fixture displays and furniture. These casters can hold a capacity of 30 to 150 pounds of load. The materials like Zinc Die Cast and Nylon used in its construction provides both style and performance. These two features can be achieved even when appearance along with mobility and stability are crucial.
These caster wheels differ in the material types used and some of the important and mainly used casters are as follows;
Euro Style Twin Wheel Casters offer sharp designer style and high load capacity from Europe. They offer a smooth ride across deep pile carpets. Their diameters are in the range of 50mm to 55mm and have load capacities from 90 to 100 pounds.
Zinc Die Cast Hooded Wheel Caster is ideally suited for applications like chairs, seating stools, where additional strength may be required. They are available in wheel diameters of 50mm and 60mm with a variety of stem mounting options.
Nylon Hooded Twin Wheel casters are commonly used furniture display and medical applications. The body of the caster is made up of steel and a steel axle that can carry loads up to 100 pounds. The wheel diameters range from 30mm to 60mm with and without brakes. They are also available with decorative hoods.
Non-hooded Nylon Twin Wheel Casters offers both the styles- namely strong construction and cotemporary. They are good and perfect for medical and furniture applications. They are also available with and without brakes with diameters ranging from 75mm to 125mm.
Likewise, an industrial wheel caster is used for low speed, manually manipulated applications and in shipping industries. The rubber caster wheels require little or no maintenance. Their efficiency is improved by manually moved operations. They are also available with locking mechanisms. They are perfect in light duty applications where caster must be immobile after applying the brakes.
A wheel caster thus forms one of the most important categories of the casters and serves well in both the heavy and light duty applications.
